It's been a while since I have written. And it's bee na little crazy here. In a very stressful week we had our son in the hospital twice once for three days wiht a migraine, learned that we needed to get a different (I don't say new because, I can't afford a new) car sooner rather than paying it off in February and driving it for a year without payments and started a job to suplement our income. This week brings school starting, the anniversary of the twins death and sports leagues, it has just been a stressful two weeks. And tonight I am supposed to have a youth leaders meeting but I have to postpone it so I can get the financing for my different vehicle. And I get to help with a baptism.
It has been a crazy wonderful summer, busy stressful but good stress the kid that comes with doing church camp and taking kids on mission trips. But the last two weeks have been bad stress the kind that comes wiht car buying hospital visits and tight money.
But God is good and I know He is with us. Thankfully Caden is feeling well, tomorrow will be his first day of school. The girls had great days for thier first day of school. And as crazy as it has been it has been good.

today
I cannot believe i have not written anything since the 31. I was going to keep this thing updated oh well. I guess it's official now I one of those heretic Christians who read "The Shack" and think it's worth reading. What do you think? It's not the bible, I do not think it's god breathed like scripture but, I do think it does help answer some tough questions, biblically in a way people can understand. But what do I know right. Get it read it, tell me what you think. Then it can get interesting. By the way, I am not happy the Chinese got the Olympics. I have tried to convince my kids we should not watch them. But, for crying out loud I probably will to. But, realistically when the international community votes of course they are going to let the Chinese host the Olympics. I wonder where they'll hide the bodies of the dissidents.
Also has anyone innocent ever been on Nancy Grace? Just Wondering why she's not a judge. But I also don't watch her much, she's never heard of innocent until proven guilty just if you are arrested on TV you are on my show you are guilty. Not to say some aren't. it's just a dangerous slope

I think I am ADD
Why because that's not what my blog is goingto be. It may come up but you know what that was a dumb idea. Even though that is still the greatest book on leadership I cannot recommend. I read it often. It's just as good as Coach K's but shorter.
any way the summer is starting to wind down but they few crazy and I mean crazy months of June and July have been incredible. I'll fill in details later but, wanted to get something in here. i am going to try to be more disciplined about my blog

Now that I have a theme...
I have a ton of leadership book I have been to all sorts of leadership conferences. In fact i am so sad bbecause my favorite leadership conference is Catalyst and I cannot go this years due to finances. But I have to admit something my favorite book on leadership is not written by a christian it even has swearing (I mean like the queen mother of all dirty words swearing) . But seriously if you can find it on amazon it is like the most practical and effective book on leadership ever. Leadership secrets of the Rogue Warrior. I first read a bok by this guy in high school. My mom would have died if she had flipped through it, but she never did. The dude was a navy seal and anti-terrorist consultant and general bad "king james donkey". But his insights on leadership are simple bold and real. Andthe best part is they are applicable. You can do them it's pretty simple. I am rereading it since I have not read it for a while and am loving it. Find it and read it for yourself
Eureka
Ok I have figured it out. I know have a tread an idea, a theme a whatever. So it's bibnate blog but I am going to blog about leadership. Why because it interests me, it has a lot to do with what I do for a living and let's face it it's something that most people have to deal with. It will have lot's of Christian though put into it because that's who and what I am. But you know, this should be fun fun fun becasue as my wife occasionally says, usually whne I sing a song she likes off key-I take everything and make it a joke. And I'll admit sometimes I do. But maybe we just take some things to seriously. So there you have it if you want an introspective and slightly off beat look at leadership here we go.

It's been a few days
Sorry I was going to be all discipline etc. But you know since I really do not have a sense of what I am wrting I sometimes do not feel the need to write. Any way maybe I 'll just try to be real and just write my thoughts of the day and see if anyone really cares.
Gas prices- If you drive a big SUV I do not want to hear you complain, especially if you bought it recently.
Gas prices-everyone drive less you can do it, plan your trips
Gas prices- Do not get mad at the attendant they do not control it

day four
Since I am just going once a day. Well i felt good to get the fly rod out and practice a little. I am not very good but enjoy it and now that Wooster has a trout stream I can actually try for trout. I like fishing but especially fly fishing. The casting trying to match what the fish are eating, just a little more involved that bait and wait. But as long as I can catch I really don't care.
The reality is that since I left Delaware, I have not fished much. Tim and I went every Saturday morning. It was great, never caught a bunch but it was us the river and God's creation.
I miss that, but I am working on changing it.

day three
Still conflicted about where I want to go. Which is not suprising, I always want to go everywhere so choosing a direction can be tough. I may just comment on other blogs, politics, church stuff, faith what every. But today i'll write about my son. I love all my kids but right now he's in the my daddy is my superhero stage. That's just so fun and scarey to think me just a regular guy is a super hero in a 4 year olds eyes is humbling. I just hope he does not ask me to fly because I can't. I know at some point I'll let him down but I don't want to. And granted I am a super hero to a kid who loves Elvos and I think it's becasue after he says he likes Elvis he can tell everybody Elvis died on the toilet. Which to a 4 year old is a riot, quite possibly the funniest thing he ever heard. OK if it weren't such a tragic waste of talent, we'd all think it was funny.

Day 2
You know I want to have one of those cleaver and creative blogs that people are dying to read everyday. I am not sure I can do that all the time but I know I can do it some of the time so check it out. So here are my thoughts for the day. Today for sports fans it's the NFL draft. I had someone ask me last night if I was going to watch it. Which worried me, I am sure they meant nothing by it but all of the sudden I was like am I that pathetic that someone who knows me would think I would sit in front of my TV and watch the draft.
The other thing that gets me it the way ESPN and other sports outlets have draft experts that try to predict the draft. Really the only draft experts needed are the 32 teams of the NFL. There job is to pick the best player for thier respective team. What really do these draftexperts do for a living the rest of the year?
And believe me I like sports but, at what point does this countries sports obsession begin to ruin it and where do sports fit in with a Christian life? I do not know, granted, it's a great way to pray in public after a touchdown. Well I guess Sooner or later I'll get a direction and focus my thoughts better and people will like what I am writing

Day One
Well I have read a few blogs and like them. I like to just put thoughts out there and have decided today I'll start blogging myself. Really it will be slow until I get the hang of it, and won't be much to look at for a while. But it will get better I promise
